ABOUT ME:
It's not just a matter of "talking it out" (although that alone does have benefits); rather it's a dialogue aimed at making connections and offering insight so that difficulties of the past and present aren't carried into the future. My psychoanalytically-informed approach is to provide a sensitive and human environment in which, together, we can examine the areas of your life that are creating challenges -- whether it's situational-life issues, feelings of depression and/or anxiety, blocked creativity, or a lack of direction or focus.
I have experience working with diverse communities, including LGBT, and people from varying countries and cultures. My educational background is rooted in the arts, and I believe this provides a backdrop and sensibility for psycho-therapeutic work that is empathic and sensitive to individuals' creativity and inner-worlds.
