ABOUT ME:
I have been counseling individuals, couples, and groups for four years. I enjoy helping people achieve their goals, overcome obstacles, and leave my office with more optimism, greater self-esteem, and a feeling of success. I teach classes for engaged and recently married couples, and do public speaking on various counseling-related topics--including an appearance on local ABC Channel 7. I will be appearing on a local talk show this Spring--details to follow.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: My approach tends to be cognitive-behavioral, which means that I help you look at how your thoughts impact your mood and how you can change both your way of thinking and behaviors in order to feel happier. I also truly listen to those who sit with me in my office to understand deeper needs and sometimes delve into issues connected to childhood or traumatic experiences earlier in your life. I empower my clients to actively participate in counseling and to making positive changes, and I also actively participate and offer suggestions based on my expertise and experience.
