ABOUT ME:
My approach to psychotherapy is "integrative" in the sense that I am familiar with and draw from a variety of empirically supported theories, depending on the needs of the client. I focus a good deal of attention on helping clients articulate and define what the problem is and how they would like things to change; I find that this approach is respectful and empowering, and facilitates the actual process of change. STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: My in-session style is relaxed, engaged, attentive, and empathic -- I listen hard, but can also be confrontive when necessary! My overall view of therapy is that it is a learning experience, and that I am there to be your guide in learning about yourself, your relationships with others, and the world in which you live.

HEALTH PLAN PARTICIPATION:
I participate in a limited number of PPOs, and no HMOs. I do have a sliding scale, and offer special discounts to military veterans who prefer to seek assistance outside the VA/military system.

CREDENTIALS:
I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Marquette University, and did my predoctoral internship at the North Chicago VA Medical Center. I have over 8 years experience conducting psychological evaluations and testing, and providing psychotherapy and consultation. I work with individuals and couples from adolescence through older adulthood, both inpatient and outpatient.
