ABOUT ME:
Particular areas of expertise include: assessments, domestic violence, anger management, family and relationship difficulties, mental health needs of children and adolescents, mood and personality disorders, and organizational consulting. I co-developed the KC PRYDE Parenting Handbook through extensive work and research of families involved in crisis situations. I also have experience completing truancy assessments and psychological/parenting assessments for SRS in Wyandotte County. I offer psycho-diagnostic testing of emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as personality assessments, intellectual, career, and forensic assessments. I am also adjunct faculty at Park University.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: Change takes both the therapist and the client working together to accomplish the goal (s). I individualize each treatment plan and value the client's input. I assist by helping my clients learn new skills that will enable them to take charge of their lives and/or thier difficult issues. I help sort out answers to stressful situations and daily problems in an objective and clarifying manner. In my work with children, I provide a safe, neutral environment in which they can try to be themselves. Whether the presenting problem is a behavioral problem, school problem, abuse or neglect, or depression, my approach is holistic in which I integrate family life, school life, social life, so the child can function more successfully in all aspects of thier lives not just the immediate troubled area.
My assessments are tailored to each person. I have an extensive library of tests that I can choose from.
