ABOUT ME: My intention is to provide an opportunity for people to gain new skills, make changes in their self-concept, and beliefs that lead toward success in their goals. I use a variety of methods including hypnosis (I've authored books and teach on the subject), cognitive and behavioral strategies, innovative methods of Energy Psychology (I've authored a book and teach on this newly evolving approach to creating emotional relief and changing belief structures), and general counseling methods. Anxiety and associated depression are areas of speciality as well as weight loss and health management.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION:After taking an adequate history and gaining a context for the client's goals, I take an active style in providing specific strategies, activities, and therapeutic processes. I believe that merely talking about problems is sometimes helpful, but that most change occurs from DOING something differently. Therefore, I work in a collaboration with clients to develop a plan of action to reach the client's goals.
