ABOUT ME:
I was born in Somerset, PA and am one of four children to my parents as well as one of 47 first cousins in all. Therein began my love of working with children and families. I am currently an art therapist and licensed clinical professional counselor with a varied employment history allowing me to have an expanded knowledge of mental health. I started my private practice in order to bring art therapy and counseling into the Lakeview community as well as serve the Lakeview population. My work is either done in office, through home visits, within a not for profit agency or through public speaking about the benefits and healing properties of art therapy.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: I prefer an eclectic approach in assisting children, families and adults to create satisfying lives. I have established the philosophy that my commitment to therapeutic work overrides any devotion to a single theory...relying on pragmatic approaches that best fit the needs of clients through clinical experience and valid research. I have taken great care in creating a secure space (a loft office divided into talk, play and art areas) in which children, families and adults can communcate safely with myself and one another, can increase self-awareness, can identify strenghts and overall improve personal growth.

I have a Master's degree in Art Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995 and have a current LCPC state of Illinois License.
