ABOUT ME:
I work with individuals and couples and specialize in treating depression, anxiety, loss & grief, life transition and relationship difficulties. I am experienced in psychodynamic growth-oriented therapy, including the impact of spiritual issues on emotional health. While I now own my own practice, my early supervision and training leading to licensure took place in a group practice under highly qualified psychologists. I have a background working with students as well as government and diplomatic leaders in Washington, DC. I have also lived overseas and have developed a sensitivity to cross cultural issues.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: I describe my counseling style as strongly relational with an emphasis on an individual's inner world and psychological development. My goal is to provide a caring and safe environment where one can feel connected, speak honestly, and discover ways to solve problems as well as bring about emotional wholeness and psychological growth.
