ABOUT ME:
For many years I have been working towards my dream of being a therapist. My dream began in highschool after taking an introductory psychology course. I knew from that point on that I wanted to work in the mental health field.
I found the complexity of the human mind fascinating and at the same time I knew it would be rewarding helping others acheive their goals and dreams.
After Highschool, I went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware in 1997. And, following my graduation from U of D, I went on to pursue my Master's Degree in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and graduated in 2002.
I began gaining my clinical experience while pursuing my degree at Hopkins. I worked as a counseling intern at Sheppard Pratt of Howard County providing individual and family counseling to children and adolescents.

STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: My style tends to be dynamic and directive. I am ecletic in my approach which means that I draw from a variety of theories and techniques. However, I tend to prefer using a psychodynamic and family systems approach. I also have become very interested in the mind/body/spirit connection and I work with my clients on learning how to be mindful and on learning how to tune in and follow their inner voice for guidance.

HEALTH PLAN PARTICIPATION:
Unfortunately, I am unable to acccept insurance since my practice is exclusively online. Insurance companies require a formal diagnosis and would not consider a diagnosis made through online services as valid.

PAYMENTS:
All payments for my services are made online through PayPal. Payments are made before services are rendered. Once a payment is made it is non-refundable.

CANCELLATIONS:
I request that clients let me know 24 hours in advance if they need to cancel or change a session. However, clients are not charged for cancelled or missed sessions. If a client has already paid for a session and then needs to cancel a session the payment will not be refunded (it can be applied towards the next session as long as the session is scheduled and kept within one week of the prior cancellation.)
