ABOUT ME:
I have nineteen years of therapy experience providing individual and couples therapy. Clients often tell me that they quickly become comfortable with me. I focus on what the client wants and needs and guide them to work through their pain and problems to feel happy and better about themselves. I have been married for seventeen years and have two children ages six and two. I enjoy playing with my children, exercising, gardening, and travel.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: My belief is that everyone wants to feel happy and fulfilled in their relationships and jobs. They also want to feel a sense of peace and joy. My job is to help my clients to feel good about themselves and have strong relationships. I use a variety of therapy approaches depending on the clients emotional needs. For example, with some clients who are depressed and/or anxious, I will use cognitive therapy. For others I will use relaxation/imagery to help them feel better. Most couples come in to therapy feeling their partners don't understand them. My focus is to help couples learn to listen to each other and effectively communicate to each other. I have also worked with couples where infidelity is the main issue. I help these couples to openly discuss their pain and build their trust back. My goal in being a therapist is to listen to my clients and understand them as people who want to feel happy.
