ABOUT ME:
Age 54, married 26yrs, 4 kids(oldest is graduating from college & youngest is graduating from high school). Straightforward, understanding, sense of humor, casual professional. Dabbling with triathlons, kayaking, hiking.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: We will not try to make you do what somebody else wants you to do. We start with your goals & find ways to help you develop the necessary skills. We have found that, if a person's individual wishes are not represented in the solution, it will not work in the long run. So there is a strong emphasis on helping each person take responsibility and control over their own happiness. Some things are better handled individually, and some things are better handled with both people in the room. Our unique blend of individual & couples therapy is quite effective.
We don't go back and dig up childhood experiences unless there is an obvious reason to do so. Focus is shifted away from placing blame, and having reasons to maintain the problem. There is a clear emphasis on developing skills instead of relying on the therapist thinking for you.

Most major plans in Puget Sound area, except PacifiCare & Molina & DSHS.

PAYMENTS:
Cash discount gives clients a break by paying at time of session so we save on billing overhead. Cash & check. In process of setting up a more workable credit card system.

CANCELLATIONS:
NoShow policy charges for missed sessions, if client failed to give us sufficient notice. Policy states 24-hr notice requirement, but we generally dont worry about it as long as it is on the machine when we come in that morning.
