Licensed Mental Health Counselor

ABOUT ME:
Erik has found faith and family to be an integral part of his decision-making, curiosity, and professional growth. He believes strongly in personal choice and feels that a person can redefine who s/he is at any point in life. Erik relies primarily on mental health concepts within clinical settings. However, his diverse training allows clients to bring religion into the therapeutic relationship if desired. Erik's colleagues note that he displays unconditional acceptance, energy, and insight to his clients. He helps people recognize that life is a continuum of stabilization and transformation with history, connection, hope, and assessment being critical to understanding personal experience.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: Erik offers an emotionally safe and productive place where you can feel free to express yourself. Along with being empathetic, patient, and tender, he possesses the strength and willingness necessary to join you in the dark/difficult places of your life and story. Respecting and using therapeutic approaches from a variety of perspectives, Erik primarily works from a relational style of therapy, drawing upon psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and existential therapies. He will help you see your current problems in a better light and then discover ways to find healing from them and their underlying causes. Finally, he will assist you in changing self-defeating styles of relating through a relationship building process of here and now work, which will result in making positive choices and changes in your life.
