ABOUT ME:
I am a clinical psychologist with over 18 years experience helping adults and adolescents resolve problems, improve relationships and achieve important life goals.
I have worked with a wide range of issues. I offer Anxiety Management groups and Weight Loss/Management groups. My areas of special interest include working with adults and adolescents undergoing emotional distress (depression, anxiety, fear and anger), relationship difficulties (getting along with spouse, family, friends or co-workers), adjustment to a change in one's life (loss of a loved one, separation/divorce, change in health status or work). I offer pre-surgery bariatric evaluations.
Dr. Patterson’s office is conveniently located in the Cotswold area, across the street from the Cotswold Mall, on Randolph Road. The office is handicapped assessable and there is ample parking. A receptionist is available to schedule appointments, provide directions and answer most client questions.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: I work with my clients to identify goals that will help them to better their lives by improving their personal relationships, managing anxiety and/or depression and develop effective coping skills. I help clients make meaningful and necessary changes for overall increased life satisfaction. I utilize a cognitive behavioral and solution focused approach.

CREDENTIALS:
Dr. Patterson earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed her doctoral internship at Broughton State Hospital and Cleveland County Mental Health Center. She earned her Masters and undergraduate degree in psychology from The University of the Pacific. She has been in private practice since 1992 and before that for three years worked in the outpatient department at Carolinas Behavioral Health Center.
