ABOUT ME:
I am a licensed psychologist with over 9 years experience helping people with a wide range of emotional and life issues, and am now expanding my work into private practice. I have helped clients to resolve problems; cope with life transitions, stress, and change; and gain self-awareness and acceptance in achieving personal goals. I specialize in working with older adolescents and adult clients, and I have special interest in working with eating disorders, relationships, trauma, depression, anxiety, identity development, school/work-life balance issues, career development, and women's mental health.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: I work with clients to collaboratively identify concerns and establish goals that will help enhance relationships, increase self-confidence, improve coping skills, and manage sources of anxiety/stress. I believe that people are generally very resilient and have a great capacity for healing and change.

CREDENTIALS:
Dr. Savoy earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She completed her predoctoral internship in the University of Illinois-Chicago Psychiatry Department, specializing in Women's Mental Health. Additionally, Dr. Savoy has worked for several years in college counseling. Most recently, she has worked for over 3 years in the Counseling Center at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her office is conveniently located in the Cotswold area.
