ABOUT ME:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with expertise in child, adolescent and family therapy. I have over 14 years experience advocating for and working with therapeutic foster/adoptive parents and their children. I also work with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, loss and/or relationship issues. As a doctoral candidate in clinical hypnotherapy, I have an on-going interest in working with the mind/body connection.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: Working with children, I incorporate both directive and non-directive play therapy as well as art therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques. In each individual session I create an environment for the children that allows them to actually have fun and enjoy the time we spend working through difficult issues. I have a predominately non-directive approach with individual adults and families as I incorporate psychodynamic, cognitive, structural and systems theory techniques to address presenting issues.
