ABOUT ME:
My specialties include treatment services for adults, children, adolescents and couples within a family systems, solution focused, strength based approach. My work includes working with children and adolescents experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties and developmental disorders, ADHD, and adults with depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, adjustment difficulties as well as eating disorders and relationship issues. I am also an expert in the treatment of childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect and with adult survivors of abuse.
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: I believe that by helping my clients to understand and believe in their strengths, they will have the best chance of finding solutions to problems.I structure my sessions by emphasizing family and individual strengths that can be used to solve even the most complex difficulties.I focus each session on specific solutions and alternative methods of thinking and behaving that help to change cognitive misconceptions that can inhibit healthy change.

CREDENTIALS:
I received my masters degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1981. I have been practicing in both Hillsborough and Pinellas Co as a supervisor, administrator and educator for over 25 years. I am licensed as clinical social worker in the state of Florida, a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers and a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work with the National Ass. of Social Workers. I have been in private practice for 3 years.
