ABOUT ME:
I teach and practice non-traditional therapies and present programs with a whole person approach.
I am a licensed clinical social worker and nationally certified trainer, educator and practitioner in psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy. I have had the great good fortune of studying with Zerka Moreno, the widow and collaborator of Dr. J.L. Moreno, the European physician who developed psychodrama, and have practiced and taught these unique experiential learning methods in a variety of settings locally, regionally, nationally and internationally since 1989.
I am the founder of Lake House Health & Learning Center, Racine, which houses my own practice as well as the practices of numerous helping and healing professionals offering yoga, Native American talking circles, massage, feng shui and spiritual direction.
I have been an adjunct instructor at Gateway Technical College in Racine and Kenosha, Wis., and teach adult education courses at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Al
STYLE
IN THE THERAPY SESSION: I take the whole person approach. I am very interested in each individal's personal experience, background, thoughts and feelings; I like to work with each person -- not patient or client, but person! -- to identify useful goals where we can direct our focus. Each session is different, depending on the situation and the person's inclinations, strengths and goals. We may talk, create simple art, use a sand tray, use guided imagery or explore a situation through role play. Sometimes there are homework assignments. I sometimes refer to allied holistic fields, including yoga, acupuncture, tai chi and bodywork as appropriate.
