Our messaging system works in two modes:
1. Internal messages do not go through the email system, but go directly to the therapist's internal mailbox. You can check the internal mailbox when you enter the member admin area, under "my inbox" at the "Messenger" area.
2. The external messaging system works directly with the email address the member used to register (or the new address if it has been changed by the member). Potential clients who want to contact a therapist-psychologist.com member do not have access to the email address. They enter the info on a pre-formatted form, and their message goes directly the to member's email box.
An important point: if a therapist-psychologist.com member responds to he mail message sent by people using the email form, the member's email address becomes visible. This is common sense – you send an email and your email address is shown, so that people can answer back to your message.
Keep this in mind when receiving mail originating from Therapist-psychologist.com.
SOME MEMBERS HAVE ASKED TO CLARIFY ABOUT INTERNAL VS EXTERNAL MESSAGING.
Internal Messaging relates to the messages members send to one another FROM THE ADMIN AREA. Those messages do not use the email address, but just an internal script that routes the messages to another member.
External Messaging uses the member's email address. Such message are generated from the member's webpage/profile page, under the phrase "SEND ME AN EMAIL", located below the member's address or picture.
How can a member know whether she received an internal message or an external message?
Simple, an internal message is only found in the admin area. To see it the member has to login first. If a message exists, the member will read something like, "WELCOME Jessica. Currently you have 4 new messages in your inbox" Click on the "4 new messages" phrase and you'll be able to read the messages.
An external message is a regular email sent to a member from a pre-formatted form. The person sending the email message cannot see the member's email address because the email address is hidden. The message goes directly to the member's email service as any other email message.
If a member decides to reply to an external message, the member's email address is automatically shown.
If you are still confused about this messaging system, reply to the post and ask for further clarification.
