Perhaps the diversity of my life experiences will give me insight to your world. I have been involved with the healing arts since 1984 when, concurrent to holding a responsible position within the corporate business community, I trained for and became a spiritual counselor. During this time I also did considerable personal deep psychology work. Eventually, I transitioned away from traditional employment and from my license as a spiritual counselor. Having discovered that among my strengths is facilitating wellness in others I obtained a counseling psychology master’s degree at a graduate school with the motto of animae mundi colendae gratia (for the sake of tending soul in and of the world); where my understand of not only psychology but also spirit and soul expanded and deepened. To add breadth to my psychology skills, I honed my abilities through assisting women at a domestic violence shelter and working at a community mental health clinic on teams (including psychiatrists, psychologists and masters level therapists) in providing therapy to a diverse population including children, families, couples, people at high risk of suicide, and the chronically mentally ill. Within my personal life are the experiences of overcoming a childhood speech challenge, marriage and divorce, family life, and hands-on caregiving of a parent.
