Pretty Good Introduction ( jamal5000 )
As an early childhood teacher, I use this book as a carry over from my university days. It covers the main issues, theories, and primary literature with relative simplicity allowing you to escape getting overwhelmed by too much techy language...but get more texts. Buying this one book will not suffice in the classroom.

This is a study guide that is 100% worthless unless you are using it with the associated text book. Don't buy it as a stand-alone work. It doesn't even have an index.Instead check out "Lifespan Human Development" by Gormly and Brodzinsky instead. It has a high Amazon rating and it seems well written, concise, and on topic. I was also very happy with the vendor, College Book Service. They let me upgrade the shipping on my order so it would arrive sooner,...
