Product Description
The only review book to incorporate color images of microscopic and gross specimens throughout, this text serves as a comprehensive review for the Anatomic Pathology board certification examination and in-service training exams. It contains chapters covering general pathology, the major organ systems and important topics including immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and molecular diagnostics. Each of the chapters is sub-divided into 3 sections: a set of board style multiple choice questions accompanied by full color photomicrographs of key gross and microscopic lesions, a second group of approximately 15-30 written multiple choice questions, and answers to each question, with concise explanations accompanied by a key current reference.
- Presents over 1,000 board style questions covering all components of the Anatomic Pathology board examination
- Incorporates over 600 full color images throughout the text, matching the format of the actual exam.
- Accompanies answers to each of the questions with a brief explanation as to why an answer is correct or incorrect
- Covers all the major organ systems and ancillary diagnostic techniques

The best available
This book is the best review and only review available. The truth is, it is a very helpful resource and a study staple that should be used in combination with other materials. It is very much geared toward the exam, and I found it to be concise, delightful, and easy to get through.

Concise yet comprehensive ( olga03 )
As somebody who's preparing for the exam I found this review very useful. While some chapters are more complete then the others, in general all major entities in every system is covered. The answer section not only gives the right answer but discusses all other possibilities. Pictures are smallish but knowing the entity you have no trouble recognizing it. Highly recommend this book.

Ok, but doesn't quite live up to its title
I recently took the AP boards and used this book in my preparation. Although using this book does help in overall review of AP topics and identifies areas of weakness, there are several problems with this book. First, the questions do not follow the same format as the questions on the real board exam. Second, as with any multi-author textbook, some chapters are better than others. Third, there are many topics and questions in AP on the real exam that are not covered in this book. The explanations to the questions are pretty good and are quite helpful. In summary, this book is good practice, but don't be too reliant on it and don't expect it to cover everything on the AP boards.

Excellent AP Board Review ( trilatius )
This excellent review cover all the main areas of anatomic pathology. Most of the questions feature color photographs. The answers provide complete and clear explanations using up to date textbook and journal references. I would recommend this book to anyone preparing for the anatomic pathology board or the resident in-service examination.
