Product Reviews:
A much needed homeopathic reference ( denayone )
The information contained in this book is extremely valuable. It is well written and researched and contains a well rounded compilation of data which is informative, engaging and relevant on most levels of dis-ease and healing. This book along with my most valuable reference book, "Help and Homeopathy; What to do in an emergency before 911 arrives" also by Eileen Naman, are an unbeatable combination for education, skill enhancement and plain old Preparedness. As the subtitle: 'Homeopathy in Times of Crisis" implies, this book should be read prior to as well as during a medical crisis, epidemic etc. Part Three; Epidemic Materia Medica, is a unique, excellent resource which has been missing from our English publications. This important publication examines acute/chronic physical/psychological distress and methods to get cures and healing outcomes. How much more imperative would such access be in a time of collective crisis such as an epidemic ? I sincerely appreciate this book and recommend it to anyone who is or plans to be in the role of healer or physician.

  Packed with Information!
I actually liked this book a lot. It's full of information and, even if you never visit a homeopath, it contains some real common sense advise. I was particularly intrigued by her explanations of how vaccines work as opposed to homeopathic remedies, the alarming rise of childhood diseases in children who were vaccinated against them and the suggested homeopathic alternatives. The book is extremely well researched and the information on the deforestation of the rain forests and the direct link with diseases like Ebola was fascinating and a lesson for all of us. I was amazed at the many diseases that are treated with rattlesnake poison. An educational and interesting read!
Important subject; flaky author ( minksahafi )
I'm very ambivalent about this book. The subject is vitally important; the author is qualified; and the information is not compiled elsewhere, to my knowledge.

However, I have zero patience for being patronized. The author fails to include potency advice, insisting repeatedly that one seek the services of a homeopath. In fact, the only advice she repeats as often, if not more, is to seek the services of an ALLOPTH!

Nevermind that in a global or national bio emergency, one might not have the luxury of seeking the services of either, and nevermind that most homeopaths -- lay or professional -- would die in the street before subjecting themselves to the tender mercies of an allopath, and nevermind the fact that I am, and probably everyone who reads this book is, an adult, who is best qualfied to decide when or if it is safe, appropriate, and preferable to seek the services of a professional. Aside from all this, the "promise" of the book is that it will provide the information you need in order to treat yourself and/or others with homeopathy during an epidemic. Without any suggestion of appropriate potency, the book is, to say the least, incomplete. Before you can use it as a reference to prepare for an emergency, you will have to do the research and finish the author's job.

I have another serious problem with this book, which bothers me but may not bother others. This book is written by a person with a doctorate from the most prestigious school of homeopathy in the world. And yet, instead of the scientically authoritative book I expected, I'm holding a book that is half homeopathic science and half new age hocus-pocus nonsense. (If you believe in having a witchdoctor journey to other dimensions to retrieve lost pieces of your soul, I apologize for what will seem an insensitive remark.) Just as disturbing are her oblique (thankfully) references to her "medical astrology."

Homeopathy is a science. It's not a new age religion, and surely the AMA has done enough damage to homeopathy's reputation without doctorates in homeopathy spouting eccentric spirituality in what has been presented as a reference book devoted to a most serious subject.

I recommend the book as a first step in preparedness. In doing so, I am recommending research on the subject; however, I can not recommend the author, who comes off in the end as a well-educated flake.

I wish I could suggest alternatives. This subject is vital and I hope other professionals will pursue it in a more appropriate manner. There is a book on the subject by Dorothy Shepherd, but it is pre-911.
