Book Description
Middle school is all about change. In the opening section, girls take a quiz to determine how they respond to change, then receive tips on how to cope with the big changes that they’re getting ready to face as they start middle school- switching classes, getting up earlier, and having their own lockers, all while learning to manage a new school, new teachers, new friends, and LOTS more homework and activities! The secret to feeling more confident as she starts middle school is having a little insight into what to expect. This book provides that information as well as "Smart Girl’s tips" from girls who have already made the grade in the big school.

Product Reviews:
  Thoroughly Enjoyable
I got this book for my niece who was a little nervous about starting middle school. We both read it and I thought it had plenty of good information and tips. I think it also helped with some of her nervousness.
A Must for Fifth Grade Girls
I bought this for a grand daughter who'ss getting ready for middle school next year. She's been 'freaking out' over the significant changes in middle school.

I haven't read the entire book but I've skimmed it enough to see that it will be a life saver for her, and I highly recommend it for anyone who has a girl leaving the comfort of elementary school.
  Hmmmmmm
Book outer cover & edge wear was inconsistant with the listing.
Book is great!
  This book helped me ALLOT!!!!!!!!!!!
I was scared bout starting middle school and I read this book and it answered all my questions. Any girl starting middle school soon should read this book.
  This would never help. ( slynn1116 )
Just read that title: "Everything you need to know about juggling more homework, more teachers, and more friends."

More friends? I never had any friends in my first year of middle school, and for the majority of the second year as well.

Like many kids, I started middle school back when I was twelve. Here are some of the things that happened to me:

Obscenities such as the F-word and the B-word were written all over my locker.... twice. Someone also spit all over the lock.

My binders and other supplies were stolen... twice.

I was bullied to the point where I cut myself and wanted to commit suicide. In the end, I was dumped in a mental hospital.

I frequently found myself in the council office. Then, when I got home I was taken to doctor's offices and therapists.

So this book does not help me, or anyone like me. But, in the American Girl world, people like me don't exist, or are called "wierdos," "freaks," or "mentally unstable."

I hate American Girl.
