Disappointment ( mid-west )
This is a blurb-ridden substitute for the old version of Book Lover's Page-A-Day calendar. In the old days, 2004, you actually got summaries and critical analysis of the books reviewed. In this latest version you get nothing but superficial quotes from USA Today, People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly. The previous calendars gave you reasons to seek out the books they reviewed. The drivel in this year's calendar has created a negative reaction to both the books and authors. We miss the fun of starting the day with a new discovery.

Book Lovers will love The Book Lover's Calendar
The Book Lover's Calendar is more than a page-a-day. It introduces avid readers to authors and titles they might never come across in the bookstore or library. I pass the pages along to friends if I think the topic is one they are interested in. I tuck the pages in my purse for my next trip to the bookstore. I write my name on a page and hand it to the librarian at the local library. If the book isn't on their shelves, she can order it for me. The page has all the information she needs. The blank sides make great paper for notes and reminders. What is there not to like about The Book Lover's Calendar?

Book-Lover's Calendar Lover. ( jgollata )
Have been "reading" this calendar for years, and have read several of the titles recommended through it. There's no time like this present.

Always a winner
This calendar is a must have each year for several members of my family. The variety of books presented and the succinct description of each make it a valuable resource for future reads and for gift ideas, both for yourself and for others. It is also enjoyable to come upon titles I have already read and to see what the editors have to say about them. I highly recommend this calendar for anyone even slightly interested in books.

My must-have calendar ( mtmillerne )
I have used the Book Lover's Page-a-Day Calendar for ten years. I love the recommendations and keep a stack of the pages handy for when I visit the bookstore or a library. The reviews are not snobbish--you can find thoughtful, enthusiastic summaries for everything from romance novels to histories of science.
