Product Description
The Touch of Healing offers readers the means to greater health, vitality, and self-understanding through the practice of an ancient oriental healing art and practical holistic philosophy called Jin Shin Jystsu. Gentle touching similar to acupressure is used to release tension that accumulates and is at the root of dysfunction, disease, and imbalance. The authors explain the natural life force that runs through the body and demonstrate with case studies, detailed analysis, and more than 30 illustrations, how to integrate this system into one's life. The key healing points and body flows, known as "Safety Energy Locks," are presented with step-by-step instructions on how to utilize them for healing and greater self-awareness. Many self-help practices are also offered that address a wide array of common ailments, including headaches, digestive disorders, fatigue, depression, and arthritis along with prescriptive exercises for relief of emotional ailments such as loss of confidence, anxiety, and depression.

Product Reviews:
Review of Burmeister, Touch of Healing
Very easy to understand and useful to the novice. The book begins with a history of the development of Jin Shin then goes to the quick easily used finger "jumper cabling" and the association of each finger with organs and systems within the body. Only then does the book go into various flows and Safety Energy Locks/points on the body that can be worked and how they can be used.
  So simple
This book is fantastic, I tried one of the hand exercises and in 5 minutes the pain in my lower back was gone, I have been telling my friends and family to get a copy, because everyone can perform his healing. Just keep it simple, thank you Mary.
  The Touch of Healing
This book has been a wonderful addition to my library. I am a licensed massage therapist and have used this book to help many clients. It is very thorough, easy to understand for beginners, and laid out in such a way that it is easy to find what you are looking for. Highly recommended reference/study tool.
Useful and Practical ( cecimcdlisw )
This is a great book. Not only do I use it for my own health, but as a therapist, I recommend it to my client.
Too many points to heal ( lellaheins )
I bought the book after a practitioner used this technique on me. However, the information provided is too extensive and confusing, listing far too many "points" in the body with corresponding healing touches to keep track of them. The body map listing them is in the first part of the book, so you have to flip back and forth to see what the author is referring to. I also thought some of the miraculous healing claims a little outrageous. The way this system originated is also a little murky. This is a better book for people training to learn this practice than for the lay public.
