Review of "Complete Review Guide" by a massage therapist. ( banananan )
This book is very thorough but very dry. It covers everything that could possibly be on the boards but there are no pictures of any kind. I kept wishing for a drawing of what was being explained. If you are fresh out of school, this would be great. I finished massage school 11 years ago and am retaking my boards. I needed a little bit more than this provided.

Complete Review Guide for National Exam in Massage
There are probably a lot of study guides out there on helping you pass the national therapeutic massage and bodywork test with test questions and workbook, but I thought this one was nicely laid out. The bulk of the test questions deal with anatomy and physiology, but that is a very broad and deep study ... at least a couple of college semesters just to know your way around the skin, bones, muscles, blood, organs, etc. down to the cellular level. Each is a system unto itself. But ... this study guide seems to hit on the most important subject matter within each of the systems as well as cover the peripherals of being a "professional" massage therapist including such topics as ethics, techniques/methods, pathologies, the dynamics of Yin-Yang, etc.
I highly recommend that you read it from cover to cover if you are serious about passing the national exam, want to obtain the essence of knowledge about the living body you are working on, and be able to converse intelligently about just what you are doing to an examiner, colleague, or even the client! Could you?

Complete ( jj_52 )
This is the only review book I used for the NCBTMB's exam, and I passed. EVERYTHING on the test was in this book. The information is formatted and presented in a format that is easy to study, and easy to remember. Highly recommended.

Complete Review Guide for State and National Examinations in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork ( niseyleon )
This has got to be THE number one quick review book out there for the massage exam! Every single question asked in this book was on the exam and if not in question form it was in the easily formatted reading sections. I liked the space in the borders for writing on and used it for notes. The other book by ashton is good too. I used both and aced the exam!!!
