Product Description
Sometimes we're blind in our prayers. Mary Magdalene was weeping at the tomb, asking for the dead body of Jesus. Whom was she asking? Jesus Himself, yet she did not know it. In his matchless way, Oswald Chambers reflects on the truth and the enormous power of prayer.

Awesome!
Absolutely the best book I've ever read on prayer and quite probably the best book ever written about it. I think my favorite part is when he reminds us to have faith in God's character and not just in his power.
I most highly recommend this book to everyone!

SMALL but POWERFUL
"If You Will Ask" by Oswald Chambers, author of "My Utmost For His Highest", focuses on the power of prayer that must be evident in every believer's life; as we realize that prayer isn't a "shopping list" but it's about a relationship with God, allowing Him to work in and through us. When our focus of prayer changes-directed to Him, His power flows through-for we are asking Him to do the things He desires to do in our hearts and lives!
This book is around 100 pages and consists of 12 chapters from 6-10 pages each-covering different aspects of prayer, with a wonderful prayer at the end of each chapter pertaining to that topic. He teaches that while we can and should pray for our own personal needs, we should focus on what God wants to do in and through us. The highest and holiest aspect of a believer's life is, through a Life of Prayer-to let Him live His life through us.
Oswald Chambers explain HOW we should pray. He says, "our ideas about prayer and Jesus Christ's, are not the same. Prayer to Him is not a way to get things from God, but so that we may get to know God. I highly agree-as I have studied and written on Biblical Prayer for some time, I have found by LIVING A LIFE OF PRAYER-that in an intimate relationship with God in Prayer-As we KNOW God, we trust and surrender to doing His Will-known and empowered ONLY in prayer. He also teaches it's not so true that "prayer changes Things" as that prayer changes Us and then we change things! I agree that When we pray, Things remain the same as we see them, but spiritually He is working where we can't see, but We begin to be different immediately. He explains in his book, "the good of praying is that it gets us to know God and enables God to perform His order through us." My personal prayer, as I pray yours will be after reading this book, praying and living differently will become. "LORD-live, love and pray through me!" He must work within us, that He may then work through us-His Hearts' cries from the Throne becoming our hearts cries and desires-to see His Kingdom come in our hearts and out into our lives and those for whom we love and pray!
It is a small book, but it is 95 pages power-packed pages. BE BLESSED AS YOU PRAYERFULLY WITH A WILLING & HUMBLE HEART READ IT!

A Great and Concise Title From Chambers ( mjt49er )
"If You Will Ask" by Oswald Chambers, author of "My Utmost For His Highest", focuses on the power of prayer in the believer's life.
The book is around 100 pages and consists of 12 chapters from 6-10 pages each and cover different aspects of prayer. Chambers' contention is that while we can and should pray for our own personal needs, we should focus on what God wants to do in and through us and to let Him live His life through us.
My personal favorite chapter was entitled "After God's Silence - What?". This particular chapter suggests that when God is silent to your prayers, the main reason (assuming there is not hindering sin in your life) is because He is getting ready to bring you into a deeper and greater revelation of Himself. Since I am currently going through a similar situation, I am eagerly waiting to hear His answer in His time and way.
Read and be encouraged. Highly recommended.
