A Classic
I've loved this book ever since I was a little kid, and this year I'm going to buy it for my sister's family. It has a great message.

 Nice Story, Choppy Ending, Still a Good Lesson to Learn ( lefthandedirish )
This is a picture book for kids about Christmas. The story is nice, the trees all want to be perfect so that they get chosen to be the royal Christmas Tree for the kingdom. They all now what helps them to become the best looking most perfect Christmas tree. The littlest Christmas tree in the woods is really looking forward to being chosen because he knows he's the most perfect, but then a bunny needs refuge and he lowers his branches and protects him, this makes his branches droop, a sparrow needs help in a storm, he sreads his branches and makes a spot for her, the deer need food, he lets them nibble his limbs.
It's a good story, but I thought the end was sort of thrown together with less care than the rest of the story. The moral is that the most beautiful are the ones who give of themselves.
It is a nice book, the illustrations are very pleasant, I just felt the end was a bit hasty for such a nice lead up. The lesson of the book is quite wonderful. We are using this in a First Grade catechism class to teach the value of giving.

This is a heart warming story about a small Christmas tree that is not perfect, because it shares from the heart.
This story was read to my child at school, and it was liked so much that she wanted one for Christmas.

The little book impresses children (and adults) with the true spirit of Christmas, giving of one's self. The illustrations are beautiful and the text well written. It has become one of my favorite Christmas stories.

This book has a great message for young and old alike! This is a book for anyone who has performed acts of service and wondered, "Does it count for anything?" And the answer is yes. Every act of kindness has a lasting impact on the giver as well as the receiver.
This story is beautifully told and illustrated. This book is a great addition to any home library--it is the kind of book you want to own not just borrow from the public library.
