Product Description
We all know absolute beauty when we see it--skin that glows with health and an outer bearing that projects inner tranquillity. Yet, despite our every effort and expense, few of us know how to achieve it. In Absolute Beauty, Pratima Raichur, a chemist and internationally recognized expert on Ayurvedic skin care, explains how the external skin tissue is the physical reflection of everything that happens within the body: the way we eat and breathe, as well as the thoughts and emotions that fill our mind and color our spirit. Here, in the first beauty and skin care guide to reveal the secret to lasting radiance through the principles of Ayurveda, Pratima Raichur offers readers: - a detailed self-test to determine their exact skin type
- customized skin care plans for each skin type
- proven-effective advice for addressing the most troubling skin problems
- essential nutritional information
- instructions for detoxifying the body

Good information
I am currently re-reading this book as it has quite a bit of information in it. Since I have oily skin, I can't use all of the oils on my face that they suggest. It's nice reading about Ayurveda.

Absolutely Beautiful ( deebstar )
I've only ever written one review before, but felt compelled to do so after reading this book. I'm not kidding when I say it's transformed my skin. I've struggled with adult acne for years, and my skin is the clearest ever - and best of all, I'm not spending $$$ on skin care. I love the fact that everything I'm using on my face I could eat! I'll be honest too, I'm not following everything recommended to the T. I've already bought this book for a couple of friends, and I've got to say, whether you have problem skin or just want a more natural approach, this book is definitely worth checking out. It's truly beautiful and inspiring, and I know I'll keep going back to it. PS there is one review by someone saying she has sensitive skin, she already knew that and so immediately started the program. I would urge her, and anyone planning to try the advice in this book, to actually read the book and go through the diagnosis process, rather than skipping to the suggested programs. I discovered my skin type is pita dominant, and was surprised as normally my body type is considered vattic. Take your time with the book, don't expect quick fixes, but read it and enjoy the journey it can take you on! It's not presciptive (ie, you have oily skin, do this... and if you read it that way, you are missing the point), it's an opportunity to tune into yourself in a far deeper way, and access the wisdom that is in your skin and in your body. I thank the author for sharing the wisdom she has gained.

The Answers!
Absolutely LOVE this book! (& actually I haven't yet finished reading it!) haha... I'm already experimenting with coconut oil on my face, tho, and FEELING the supple difference!
It's a very thorough read for anyone sincerely searching for a natural solution to their skin problems. There's no way that it could be harmful, only helpful.
Love the theory that everything you put on your skin is 'food for your skin'! So if you can't imagine eating it, you shouldn't be putting it on your skin! :-O ^_^
I really like the profiles of the different doshas and I love that it explains the common temperaments, etc. It really is about learning to de-stress in order to de-wrinkle! I really really could go on forever about how much I love this book :)
It's just been the answers to so many questions I had been searching for in terms of clearing my face and also gives me such great incentive to work towards clearing my worrying thoughts whenever they do creep up ^_^
Not only for the sake of facial beauty but for entire body and mind health!
Oh, I would love to be this woman's apprentice. She has obviously really done her research and there is a LOT of amazing facts from modern studies there to back up all the ancient wisdoms.

Highly Recommended ( jennicysm )
I haven't had this book for long and I have already learned so much. It's a big book full of tips to make being beautiful and living naturally go hand in hand.

My 'bible' on beauty and Ayurveda
Absolute Beauty is a comprehensive, in-depth resource for achieving 'beauty' through the ancient practice of Ayurveda. I am relatively new to the study of Ayurveda, and I found this book to be one of the most well written, user- friendly and practical books I have come across. Author, Pratima Raichur, approaches skin conditions primarily as a symptom of an underlying imbalance - treating the root cause of the symptom as well as the particular way in which it manifests in the skin. So while the book speaks directly to beauty through beautiful skin - it goes far beyond, providing a wealth of information to assist the reader along the path to beauty and health.
